Our Wedding Day

Friday, July 11, 2014

5 p.m. (Arrive 4:45 p.m.)

Adolfo Camarillo Ranch

201 Camarillo Ranch Road

Camarillo, CA 93012

Website | Map | Directions

Please remember that Friday freeway traffic can be quite the snarl-fest, so please plan to arrive at 4:45 p.m. for the sake of arrival sanity! ;)

We toured this civically-historic site together in 2009, and its peaceful, vintage-California atmosphere has stuck with us ever since. The Camarillo House was built in 1892 by Adolfo Camarillo, whose family was instrumental in founding the thusly-named city of Camarillo. The ranch is only about ten minutes away from the home where Christa grew up, and the ranch grounds seem just right for a garden ceremony and reception under the stars.

Why Camarillo Ranch? We love the idea of starting out with history in a big way. Basically, we both have old souls, enjoy summer picnics, and love to laugh, so we're imagining a beautiful ceremony, a fanciful picnic, timelessly fun retro details — classic burgers and sweet comfort food, anyone? — and assorted meaningful silliness. Whimsy + retro + picnic = us, mostly.

"Pizza & Piano"

Meet-and-Greet

4 p.m. (Ends at 7 p.m.)

The Youngs' House

For directions, call (805) 402-4620

or email youngc2@adelphia.net

If you're going to be in town on the evening of Thursday, July 10, consider stopping by the Young family home to grab a slice of pizza, have a chat, and listen to the fabulous piano stylings of David Fraley, young pianist extraordinaire! This "event" is meant to be a causal pizza meet-and-greet where you can meet up with the Young and Wormek families, if you're present and able, and enjoy a peck of provided pizza with piano — that's a sweet bit of alliteration ;) — from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., since everyone is definitely going to need some sleep before the wedding day!

Farewell Lunch Meet-Up

Saturday, July 12, 2014

1 p.m.

Yolanda's Mexican Cafe

86 East Daily Drive

Camarillo, CA 93010

Website | Map | Directions

After our wedding day, we had planned to meet at Yolanda's Mexican Cafe, a local restaurant with yummy food, great prices, and a casual atmosphere, as a place where guests could meet up with any remaining-in-town members of the Young and Wormek families, if they liked, and order themeselves a bite to eat ... but we wound up swinging by the restaurant and caravaning to the Young's house instead for an amazing "leftovers buffet!" Even the best-laid post-wedding plans can get pleasantly awry-changed. ;)
